Commercial motorcycle riders in Lagos, who are commonly referred to s Okada riders are fighting back in a physical way, after the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led government restricted their operations to inner city roads and streets in February, 2020.
Okada riders who operate around the Ikeja-Along axis resisted attempts by personnel of the Lagos State task force -which comprises policemen and other security agents- to impound their bikes.
According to social media reports, the bikers regrouped and enlisted the services of street touts aka ‘area boys’, and chased the task force officers into their vans.
In viral video, scores of Okada men can be seen chasing the security operatives as the task force officers retreat to their operational vehicles and zoom off from the scene.
