The United Kingdom Parliament has fixed a date to commence deliberations on petitions seeking sanctions on the Nigerian government and its officials for human rights violations and extrajudicial killings of End SARS protesters.
The deliberations have been scheduled to hold on November 23.
A petition had been filed on the UK government and parliament website, accusing the federal government and the police of violating the rights of protesters calling for an end to police brutality.
The parliament had earlier deliberated on the shooting of peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos on October 20, 2020.

Recall that the United Kingdom had also revealed that it is reviewing all evidence concerning the petition seeking a sanction against the Nigerian government over human rights violations and killings at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos during the #EndSARS protests.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, however, said it does not “publicly speculate on future sanctions designations”.
UK Parliament had confirmed it will consider a petition sent to it, if the petition gathers100,000 signatures.
The petition which is on the website of UK government and parliament, accused Nigerian authorities of violating the rights of those protesting against police brutality and extortion.
