Yobe Politician Dies Less Than 24 Hours To His Swearing-in

The newly appointed Chairman, Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, Hon. Lawan Gana, has died, less than a day to his swearing-in.

Daily Post reports that he passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 after a brief illness.

Gana had been admitted at Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.

Family sources confirmed his death saying that “the deceased this morning complained of back ache and went to Federal Medical Center, Nguru for check up but couldn’t survive the ailment and passed away”.

The Chairman died barely a few hours to their official inauguration ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 26 at the Government House, Damaturu.

He was among the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees to be sworn-in by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
