Reactions as new EFCC boss assembles staff under the sun to address them for the first time

The recently confirmed chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has stirred reactions on social media after photos surfaced from his first address to staff of the anti-graft agency.

The PUNCH shared images of Bawa addressing the staff who were assembled under the sun, and stressed on the need for them to execute their functions and duties in a disciplined manner.

Nigerians did not welcome the idea of making the members of staff to stand under the sun when they could have used a conference centre or in the case that they can’t all fit into the conference room, little groups can be formed in different parts of the office and each of them would be logged into Zoom for a virtual meeting.

Some also said that he didn’t it as a media show which will be a form of PR for his tenure

@Allezamani; Inside Sun? What happened to conference hall in the EfCC secretariat? I won’t be surprised if they have none.

@iamLaBii; We know his name, why is his ID turned? Breeze, security purpose or? And why must they be addressed under the sun. This hardship and slavery mentality has killed some people completely. Their office does even count anymore. Ments! Menter!! Mentest!!! People! Ah
