Following the scarcity of new naira notes and uncertainty over the use of the old notes, Nigerians are beginning to resort to the ancient trade by barter form of buying and selling.
In a video shared online, a Nigerian man was seen asking a food vendor for a plate of rice in exchange for detergent.
The man presented three sachets of detergent worth N300 to the food seller who then gave him food with the equivalent amount.
The food seller, who was comfortable with the transaction, and spoke in Yoruba, said she accepted the sachets of detergent and dished the man rice worth N200 topped with spaghetti worth N100.
The unorthodox transaction has drawn mixed reactions from users.

In other news, a nigerian family opted to digitalize a burial using a POS.
In a video circulating social media, an account number was displayed by a table, incase any guests wanted to transfer to the grieving family.
In addition to that, a Point Of Sale (POS) machine for donations was placed on the same table while a man, presumably the Master of Ceremony (MC), spoke in the background.
With guests seated under canopies all over the venue of the burial, the MC announced the options of both POS and e-transfer.
