Nigerian Afropop artiste, Lyta, born Opeyemi Babatunde Rahim, has spoken on the challenges he started encountering following decisions he made as a promising artiste.

He said people gave him advise which he should not have taken as an upcoming artiste but he was young and naive.

According to him, when he released his breakout hit song, ‘Time’ featuring Olamide, he allowed friends in the industry get to his head with their talks.

Lyta, who was formerly signed to YBNL Nation said things started to go awry for him when he left the Olamide-owned label after listening to advice.

The ‘Worry’ singer, however said that though Olamide unfollowed him on Instagram, there is no bad blood between them as he has a cool relationship with his former boss.

Lyta also said that he does not blame himself for the bad decisions because he believes that upcoming artistes are meant to experience such so that it will teach them a live lesson.

The singer also reiterated his appeal to Olamide that he wants to be back to YBNL.

Meanwhile, street-hop singer, Ahmed Ololade Asake, known by his stage name, Asake earlier recounted how ace rapper, Olamide noticed him and added him to the YBNL family.

He said that before he got signed to Olamide’s YBNL nation, it took years of dedication towards achieving his heart desire.

Speaking in an interview with Cool FM, Asake revealed that he’s been sending messages to Olamide since 2020 but the label boss didn’t respond to any of his texts.

According to the ‘Sungba’ hit maker, he would slide into Olamide’s DM often asking for help and reminding him about how he helped his friends, of which Fireboy is among.

The singer further said he attended the same school with Fireboy, but the ‘peru’ hit-maker experienced a breakthrough in the entertainment business before him so he always brought it up while texting Olamide all in a bid to get the YBNL founder’s attention.

He added that sadly, all that didn’t work out at the time, but his dream turned to reality with the release of his smash hit, ‘Omo Ope’.

On how he met Olamide, Asake said the rap artiste put a call across to him and asked for a meeting only for him to reach there and get asked to join the YBNL family.

Asake reminisced on how excited he was and noted that he didn’t think twice about the offer before as he accepted immediately.

He also said that he was not really interested in going home with the terms of contract document to read through and sign because he just wanted to start making music as a YBNL artiste without delay.

The PBUY crooner also singer said that Olamide made him realise that he was being observed for a long time before they invited and signed him.
