BET Awards: Burna Boy wins ‘Best International Act’ For The Fourth Time

Self-acclaimed African giant, Burna Boy.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has won the award for “Best International Act” award at the 2023 Black Entertainment, BET Awards.

The event held on Sunday night, June 25 in Los Angeles, California, United States of America.

The Africa Giant defeated his compatriot, Ayra Starr, French singer; Aya Nakamura, British superstars; Ella Mai, Stormzy, and Central Cee to snag the award.

The latest feat brings Burna Boy’s BET Award wins to four, making him the most awarded person in the “Best International Act” category.

Though Burna Boy was absent at the show, his announcement as the winner received resounding applause.

Btlsblog recalls that Nigerian songstress, Tems won the “Best International Act” award last year (2022).

Burna Boy won the award for three consecutive years – 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Meanwhile, Afrobeats sensation Asake lost the “Best New International” award to Cameroonian star, Libianca.
