According to a report, the disturbing incident began when approximately 100 youths descended on the neighbourhood late Thursday night, armed with machetes, knives, and bottles.

They were heard shouting “Ole, Ole” (which translates to “thief” in English), indicating their intention to target alleged wrongdoers or criminals in the area.

As the group moved through the community, they allegedly focused their anger on parked vehicles, causing significant damage to at least 15 cars.

The exact motive behind the attack and the identities of those responsible remain unclear at this time.

Local residents expressed fear and concern for their safety after the violent clash.

In response to the unrest, the Kwara State Police Command has initiated a manhunt to apprehend the individuals responsible for the destruction and violence.

Law enforcement agencies are expected to work diligently to identify and arrest those involved in the clash.

Residents were urged to cooperate to restore peace to the affected neighbourhoods and ensure the public’s safety.
