Social media has given Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe, a new name following their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Mbappe was silent on the pitch as the Champions League newcomers beat the Ligue 1 giants in England to sit top of Group F.
The Magpies, playing their first Champions League match in front of their home fans at St James’ Park in 20 years, shocked Luis Enrique’s side with goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar.
The 2018 World Cup winner and 2022 finalist was a peripheral figure in the game.
The 24-year-old French international could not find his feet on the night as his mixed start to life this season continued.
And on X, his name became Kylian Mbedbug as football fans mocked him over his very poor display.
A fan wrote on X, “Kylian Mbedbug has been quiet so far,” and the name Mbedbug trended even after the game.
