‘The Dollar Was Almost N1300 at Some Point Last Week, But It Has Crashed to Below N1000’ – Biodun Ajiboye

Biodun Ajiboye, Assistant Director, Media and Publicity of the Defunct APC Campaign Council, has commended the leadership style of President Tinubu and highlighted it as a new and effective approach in Nigerian leadership. He revealed that a dollar was almost N1300 last week, but it has crashed to below a thousand naira.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Ajiboye described President Tinubu as a leader who emphasises performance and accountability. He revealed that ministers will be evaluated for their performance, and those who do not meet expectations will be asked to leave their positions.

According to him, “Once a leader signs their understanding in the past, it means sealed and delivered. No, Asiwaju has brought a new lease of life and a new style of leadership to Nigeria. He’s a leader with a high level of presence of mind. His presence of mind is very high, and that is why he told the ministers, we’ll evaluate your performance, and you’ll sit in front of somebody to say this is what is expected of you. The performance evaluation process is very key. It’s very important, and whoever does not perform leaves us. And that is the way to run the situation we’re in now: we must move from point A to point B progressively, and we must be able to measure our level of progression. We must be able to see substantial development in what we’re doing. The dollar was almost N1300 at some point last week, but it has crashed to below a thousand naira. It has to crash to N500. And you know what has happened-the dollar has been subsidised for about 40 years in this country.”
