SHU vs MUN: Manchester United Team News and Possible Starting Lineup for Today’s Premier League Game

Manchester United could be facing a challenging lineup situation for today’s Premier League match against Sheffield United, with key players sidelined and doubts over others.

The Red Devils will have to cope without Casemiro, who is recovering from an ankle injury sustained while on international duty with Brazil. Although initial concerns were alleviated after he played the full 90 minutes for Brazil against Uruguay, he remains in Brazil to recover.

On a more positive note, Sofyan Amrabat, who had to withdraw from Morocco’s squad due to an injury concern, has returned to training in Manchester and is expected to be part of the squad this weekend.

Manager Ten Hag expressed his confidence in Casemiro’s swift recovery, saying, “It’s disappointing that Casemiro picked up an injury but it’s not too bad. I’m sure and confident he will be back for the next games, so very short notice. The good thing is also that Sofyan Amrabat is available.”

Also during the pre-match press conference, Ten Hag provided positive updates on the fitness of Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon, both of whom are ready to return after the international break.

Victor Lindelof, despite a distressing week with the Swedish national team following a terror attack in Brussels that led to their match against Belgium being abandoned at half-time, is also deemed ready to play.

However, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Tyrell Malacia continue to be absent from the lineup.

Ten Hag will face decisions regarding the starting XI and may consider including Scott McTominay, who made a significant impact with two goals off the bench in their last match against Brentford.

Manchester United’s Possible Starting XI: Onana; Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Reguilon; Amrabat, McTominay; Fernandes, Mount, Rashford; Hojlund

Injuries: Shaw, Malacia, Wan-Bissaka, Mainoo, Amad, Martinez, Casemiro

Doubts: Reguilon, Varane, Amrabat
