Shocking: Ugandan Politician Takes Back Ambulance She Donated After Losing Election

Many netizens have been left in shock after a popular account on the social media platform, X, @AfricaFactsZone, reported that a Ugandan politician took back an Ambulance she donated to her district after losing her election in 2021.

The politician, Hon. Evelyn Anite, who is currently the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in Uganda has come out to affirm this fact.

The Ugandan politician thanked the page for bringing the matter up while stating that she did so without any regrets and she would not apologize as the citizens refused to vote for her.

In her words she added;

“Why did I do it? It’s because they didn’t vote for me. So did you expect me to walkaway with nothing? Galatians 6:7 A man reaps what he sows.”

Many netizens have been left flabbergasted by this fact, with some even wondering how she has the audacity to do something like that because she was she didn’t win the election while saying it boldly without any regret. See some reactions below:

@AgabaGerald08 said: ???????? Indeed, Ugandans we are so shameless????????.

@DrBale1 said: This is the level of embarrassment we are now happy about. A minister is happy to withdraw service. You wonder, do you still serve the same people as minister? The statement would be good if you rejected the ministerial position and went private as you say.

@IxacFreemahn said: If you decide to help. Do so with no strings attached

@zlwigale said: Smells like corruption to me

@SavvyRinu said: As a politician, your duty is to the entire population, not just those who vote you. Your ambulance or other amenities are not a tool of political gain or retribution. Your actions are unethical and against the principles of democracy and good governance. Was your ambulance just to buy their votes or a needed amenity for your own people?

@BarbosaKahinda said: You once branded yourself as the only gate to Koboko,what went wrong Honourable????

@JKiweesi said: So it’s transactional politics..
