Rivers State Law School: Look at the Money We Spent in That Law School; Ordinary to Cut the Grasses, You Cannot – Wike Blasts DG

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has called out the Director General of the Rivers State Law School, Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, for not taking good care of the law school despite the money they spent in the construction of the school. Wike stated that he (Prof. Hayatu) cannot perform even a simple or basic task, like clearing the grass in the school’s surroundings.

In a video posted by Channels Television, Wike stated that he is highly disappointed in the director general of the school. He added that most people find it easy to criticize public officers but find it difficult to fulfil their responsibility when being appointed to public offices.

According to him, “Those of you who don’t have any appointments today, you’re opportune to criticize those who have appointments. You’re opportune to criticize government not doing what you’re supposed to do. But when you have been given an appointment, for you now to showcase that kind of capacity you think you have, you fail. I called the DG of the law school in the last body of benchers. I said I’m highly disappointed. Look at the money that we spent in that law school. Ordinary to cut the grasses; you cannot. Money was made available to you to make sure that you don’t run back to the federal government to say, look, we don’t have money to run the activities of the school. We went ahead to even provide structures for you to rent out and make money to use for the maintenance of that school. Go and pass that school now; you can’t believe it.”
