According to African Independent Television (AIT), President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remotely monitored the proceedings at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja, Nigeria, while attending the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India. The tribunal comprised a panel of five justices who delivered their verdict on petitions challenging Tinubu’s election victory. These petitions were filed by major opposition parties and candidates, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as well as the Allied People Movement (APM).

The tribunal convened at 9:40 am at the Court of Appeal in Abuja and unanimously found that the petitions submitted by Atiku, Obi, and their respective parties lacked merit. They upheld Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election held on February 25. Justice Haruna Tsammani chaired the tribunal, with other panel members delivering the judgment.
President Tinubu expressed his satisfaction with the court’s decision, acknowledging the challenging and emotionally charged journeys for all parties involved. This verdict, as reported by AIT, reflects the outcome of the tribunal’s decision regarding the presidential election petitions.
