NDYM Condemns Attack On #EndSARS Protesters In Benin City, Calls On FG To Bring Perpetrators To Book
A group under the aegis of Niger Delta Youth Movement.NDYM, Edo State Chapter has charged the Presidency, the Inspector General of Police, Edo State Government and other security agencies to set up a panel of inquiry to investigate and bring to book all those behind the bloody attack on #EndSARS protesters at Ring Road Benin City which led to the death of a youth with several others sustaining gunshot injuries.
The group made this known late Friday evening in a terse statement made available to the press.
Personally signed by the State Chairman, Hon Asoro Philips the group condemn the sponsored attack on the protesters and warned detractors against the progress of the country to stay clear from the ongoing protest against police brutality.

The statement read in part, “It is quite despicable and heartbreaking that some group of people would come together and attack peaceful protesters who are tired with the current state of hopelessness we find ourselves as a Nation and have left their comfort zones to register their displeasure.
It is disheartening that these hoodlums who are first-class victims of police brutality, bad governance, corruption and other ills of the society we find ourselves today can be used by unscrupulous individuals to attack these brave youths fighting for the betterment of our country.
We condemn in strong terms this dastardly act and call on the Presidency, the Inspector General of Police, the Edo State Government and other security agencies to set up a panel of inquiry to look into this heinous act to bring the perpetrators to book,
The protest against police brutality is in line with the cry of marginalization, deprivation, injustice and violence that we the Niger Delta Youth Movement have been fighting against over the years.
We are using this medium to warn all detractors and enemies of progress to stay clear from the struggle to enthrone good governance in Nigeria as further attacks on #EndSARS protesters would not be taken with levity by the Niger Delta Youths.
We extend our condolences to the family of the youth who paid the supreme sacrifice with his life”
Some unidentified hoodlums on Friday attacked protesters gathered at the King’s Square axis of the state.
