Islamic researcher shot dead in Yobe.
A Yobe-based Islamic researcher, Sheik Goni Aisami-Gashua, was taken shots dead at Jajimaji, the central command of Karasuwa neighborhood government council of the state on Saturday, August 20.

The cleric was said to have been going from Gashua to Kano when he was confronted by the shooters.
Affirming the incident, the representative of the state police commander, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said a few suspects employing AK-47 rifles have been captured and are in police care.
Gashua has been quite possibly of the most quiet local area in the state, even at the pinnacle of the Boko Haram rebellion.
