The Nigerian Army on Saturday, vowed to repeat the same action it took at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020, should a similar situation arise again.
Recall that soldiers who had been deployed to disperse #EndSARS protesters that converged on the toll gate for 13 days opened fire on them, leading to many injuries.
Although the army had maintained that blank bullets were used to disperse the protesters, it revealed during a hearing today that it also took live rounds to the toll gate.
Ibrahim Taiwo, commander of the 81 division of the Nigerian Army while speaking before the judicial panel set up to probe the incident, said given the same circumstance, the army would act in a similar to that of the Lekki toll gate incident.
