How To Register For 2024 JAMB UTME & DE: Requirements, Fees, And Tips

The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has started the registration process for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) for all interested candidates across Nigeria.

  • A National Identification Number (NIN), which is a unique 11-digit number issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to every Nigerian citizen. You can obtain your NIN by visiting any NIMC enrollment center or by dialing *346# on your mobile phone.
  • A valid email address, which you will use to create your JAMB profile and receive important information from JAMB.
  • An O-level result, which is the minimum qualification for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria.   • The JAMB e-PIN, which is the electronic voucher that contains your unique registration number and personal details. The e-PIN costs N3,500 for both UTME and DE candidates.
  • The JAMB CBT Centre registration service charge, which is the fee paid to the accredited computer-based test (CBT) centre where you will register and take your exam. The CBT Centre registration service charge costs N700 for both UTME and DE candidates.
  • The JAMB CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME, which is the fee paid to the CBT centre if you choose to take the optional mock exam or the UTME exam. The mock exam is a practice exam that helps you prepare for the main exam. The CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME costs N1,500 for both UTME and DE candidates.
  • The bank charges/commission, which is the fee charged by the bank or the payment platform where you purchase your e-PIN. The bank charges/commission costs N500 for both UTME and DE candidates.

The total amount you will pay for JAMB 2024 depends on whether you are taking the mock exam or not. If you are taking the mock exam, you will pay N7,700. If you are not taking the mock exam, you will pay N6,200.

How to pay for JAMB 2024?

You can pay for JAMB 2024 using any of the following methods:

  • Bank payment: You can visit any participating bank and request for the JAMB e-PIN. You will provide your NIN, email address, and phone number, and pay the required amount. You will receive a confirmation SMS with your e-PIN and a payment receipt.
  • Online payment: You can visit the JAMB portal at jamb.gov.ng and click on the “Purchase of 2024 Application Document” link. You will enter your NIN and confirm your details. You will then select your preferred payment method, such as debit card, USSD code, or internet banking, and follow the instructions to complete your payment. You will receive a confirmation SMS with your e-PIN and a payment receipt.

How to register for JAMB 2024?

After paying for your JAMB e-PIN, you can proceed to register for JAMB 2024 by following these steps:

  • Create your JAMB profile: To create your JAMB profile, send your NIN as a text message to 55019 or 66019. For example, NIN 00123456789. You will receive a confirmation code and a link to verify your email address. Click on the link and follow the instructions to activate your JAMB profile.
  • Visit an accredited CBT centre: To complete your registration, you must visit an accredited CBT centre near you. You can find the list of accredited CBT centres at jamb.gov.ng. You will present your confirmation code, e-PIN, and O-level result (or awaiting result) to the CBT centre.
