Unknown gunmen have attacked a branch of Living Faith Church Worldwide in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The kidnappers, who invaded the church premises at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road, when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend, abducted at least three members, Daily Post reports.

The assailants were said to have stormed the area, shooting sporadically to scare away interveners before whisking the victims to an unknown destination.

Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday evening through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

According to him, the chairman had visited the scene in company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division since the incident occured.

Habeeb Jamiu added that the council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, had et to reply inquiry calls as at press time.
