The Director of Finance of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Brigadier General Audi Ogbole James, has passed away in an accident.

The deceased General died on Tuesday, November 15, from injuries he sustained after a solder, Abayomi Ebun, alleged to be drunk, hit him with his vehicle.

According to an eyewitness, the tragic incident occurred around 10:30pm on Tuesday as the General was trekking to his residence inside the barracks in Lagos.

“The general was trekking to his apartment inside the Barracks when he was hit and knocked down by the drunk soldier.”

“The soldier also resides inside the barracks and was seen driving recklessly before hitting the senior officer.”

It was learnt that the top officer was rushed to the NAFRC Medical Centre after the accident but was sadly pronounced dead.

The army corporal has now been arrested and is being held by NAFRC provost marshals investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army is yet to speak on the tragedy.

In other news, a family-of-six have all passed away after eating dinner together as a family.

It was learnt that the family consisting of a father, mother, and their four children were wiped out after sharing a meal on October 8, 2022.

The family — father, Augustine Tochukwu Nwokedi (41), mother, Josephine Nkeiru Nwokedi (39), children, Emmanuel Chinaemelum Nwokedi (12), Godwin Chigozie Nwokedi (9), Blessing Chinazaekpere Nwokedi (6), and Jospeh Chinedum Nwokedi (3) — will be laid to rest on November 29, 2022, in their hometown in Ozubulu, Anambra state.
