Popular Nollywood actress and show host, Nancy Isime, has shared how her childhood trauma affected her as an adult.

The screen diva, in a chat with Lilian Afegbai, said the trauma she had as a child made her grow up to become a people-pleaser.

Speaking about her childhood, Nancy noted that she didn’t get the attention she required as a child. According to her, this made her grow up wanting to please people.

“I don’t force myself on anybody. I used to be a people pleaser but that came from childhood trauma. It came from childhood trauma where you’ll be looking for attention as a child and you didn’t get it.

When you get older, you start waning people to like you. So even if it’s breaking you, even if you know that this person doesn’t like you and has said shit about you, you think maybe they can change their minds”. She said.

Speaking on how she overcame it, the Blood Sisters star said self-love helped her to stop becoming a people-pleaser.

“But learning to love myself and being intuitive helped me to heal from being a people pleaser”.

Recall that a while ago, Nancy Isime made a shocking revelation about her childhood.

In a recent interview with BBC pidgin, Nancy revealed she lost her mother at the age of five, and growing up was difficult.

Speaking further, Nancy stated that she suffered depression as a child and even attempted to commit suicide.

According to her some people have time to go through life, but her case was different because she needed to be matured, and losing her mother at a very young age made her exposed to many things.
