#EndSARS protester, Rinu laments over being unable to write her exams

Nigerian activist, and frontline EndSARS protester, Oduala Olorunrinu, simply known as Rinu, has taken to Twitter to lament over her inability to write her exams due to the freezing of her account over her participation in protests last year.

Rinu who had participated in protests against police brutality in Nigeria in October 2020, was among the 19 individuals whose bank accounts were frozen by the Central Bank of Nigeria after obtaining an ex-parte order from a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Months later, their accounts are still frozen, and Rinu who is a student, has lamented over how this affects her studies.

In a series of tweets, most of which have now been deleted, the vocal young lady cried out that the system is failing her simply because she protested.

In her words;

”In reality, the burden I carry is a heavy one. My school exams starts today. But I can’t write any. The system is refusing & failing me just because I protested against police brutality.”

She added;

”How do I write exams after being tagged a terrorist whose only crime is demanding accountability from the leaders of her nation?

”Responsibility comes with great consequences but I am not afraid.

”I am only disappointed that the system is failing me.”
