‘Someone That Is Helping The Needy And Not Paying Tithes Will Soon Become One Of The Needy – Bishop Oyedepo Declares, Nigerians React

A statement alleged to be from Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church aka Winners’ Chapel has attracted multiple reactions from social media users.

According to the statement credited to the popular clergyman, anyone who doesn’t pay tithes but instead uses the money to help the needy will eventually end up as one of the needy.

In other words, one can’t use tithe money to help another person who is in dire need because tithe belongs to God and shouldn’t be tempered with by any form or in any circumstance, else it will lead to financial decline for the offender.

The statement read;

As usual, the post generated mixed reviews from social media users. While some agreed with the respected Bishop, saying tithing is compulsory for prosperity, many bashed him, claiming it is an exploitative means of getting money from gullible members.

Paying tithe and helping the needy are too different things, they are biblical principles ,each comes with a blessing .That You want to help the poor should does not mean you should not pay your tithe ,no one says you should not help the poor.
