Rapper, Ycee lambasts musicologist who said Tems’ voice isn’t special

Nigerian rap ace, Ycee has slammed a man who opposed the hype around songstress, Tems, saying that there is nothing special about her voice.

The critic identified as David Onyemaizu said that he appreciates the vocal dexterity of female singers like Tiwa Savage, Chidinma Ekile, Yemi Alade and Omawunmi.

According to him, they are better than Tems and if not for Twitter hype and PR, there is nothing special about her.

”There are plenty of female artistes that can sing better than Tems. I’m yet to find what is unique about her voice. Except a lot of PR and Twitter hype. Chidinmma’s voice sends chills down my spine.

Tiwa Savage sends chills as well. Yemi Alade and Omawunmi are better singers. Unfortunately, there’s nothing “unique” about Tems voice. Her voice is just normal to me. It doesn’t send chills down my spine.

Ycee, who did not like the criticism, took to the comment section of his post to lambast the man.

The Jagaban hitmaker tweeted; ”Go lie down on top ice block since your spine Dey find chills”.
