Obaseki Hints On Withdrawing From Governorship Race As Police Withdraws Security Aides To Frank Okiye

The chances of Obaseki seeking reelection has narrowed in drastically as Hon Victor Edoror emerged the new Speaker Edo State House of Assembly.

Reliable sources just hinted our reporters that Obaseki is considering withdrawing from the Governorship race.

Recent developments suggest that Obaseki may have bought an expired ticket from the PDP.

Obaseki took this stance after the security details to the former speaker Hon Frank Okiye was withdrawn this evening.

Obaseki according to our source is now a recluse of himself and has hinted his personal aides that if the Presidency finally makes a public statement endorsing the impeachment of the former speaker then he’s done with seeking reelection.

As we speak Obaseki has taken a 24 hrs break to reevaluate the whole political situation.

With a mass resignation of PDP ward chairmen looming Obaseki is scared of a big dent to his aspiration.

“Throwing in the towel might be the most reasonable move by Oga, His Excellency is very charged now and I can tell you he is currently reconsidering his second term bid.

All I can say for now is that Oga is really in a tight corner and considering not seeking a second term might be his only soft landing.

Obaseki is faced with multiple court cases on his eligibility to contest and an impending impeachment.

Not inaugurating elected members alone is an impeachable offence that ordinarily should be the first thing the lawmakers should address, for denying their constituents’ quality representation for more than a year then the implications should take effect.
