Nigerian Army arrests officer for helping bandits in NDA Kaduna attack

The Nigerian Army have arrested an officer alleged to be one collaborators of the bandits’ attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna.

Sergeant Torsobo Solomon, currently attached to the Air Force Comprehensive School, Yola, was apprehended after being uncovered by military intelligence services.

This was made known in a statement released by the military confirming the sergeant was arrested on Monday in Yola, Adamawa State.

The statement reads: “On 08 Nov 21, at about 0600hr, NAF07/ 23922, SGT Torsobo Solomon of 153 BSG (AIR FORCE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL YOLA) was arrested on the order of the Base Commander as requested by the NDA Commander for an offence connecting with arms and ammunition with recent bandit attack at NDA Kaduna.

“At about 0815hr, ATR with reg no NAF 930 to arrive flight line to convey him from Yola to NDA KADUNA for further interrogation.”

The NDA released Solomon’s photo and announced he is to be flown to the Army Training Regiment (ATR) in Kaduna.

The hit on the well-fortified military asset is considered one of the most audacious attacks against Nigeria’s Armed Forces in history.

The deadly assault on August 24, 2021, left two officers – Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo – dead.

Second Lieutenant Onah sustained gunshot wounds. Major Christopher Datong was kidnapped and later released.
