A 26-year-old woman has sued her fiancé for wasting her time and not getting married to her even after dating for eight years.
Gertrude Ngoma told a Zambian court she was tired of waiting to get married to 28-year-old Herbert Salaliki who promised to wed her.
According to reports, Ngoma was still living with her parents despite having a child with Herbert who was living alone.
The boyfriend is said to have made the dowry payment but still had not tied the knot with his baby mama.
Ngoma revealed that she was tired of waiting and decided to sue her lover for not being serious about their future.
“He has never been serious, that is why I brought him to court because I deserve to know the way forward and our future,” she said.
The young lady said she doubted Hebert’s loyalty after discovering he was texting another woman who she believes has something going on with her fiancé.
In his defence, Hebert said he was not in the right financial position to afford a wedding and also blamed Ngoma for not giving him the needed attention.
The judge presiding the case advised the couple that reconciliation was the best way to go as there was no sign of any marriage to take place yet.
