It is not considered polite to borrow money from a lady – British man tells Nigerian men

A British gentleman identified as Grant Harrold has taken to microblogging platform, Twitter to advise Nigerian men on a key etiquette to note and embrace while interacting with women.

In a post via his account, @TheRoyalButler, a Twitter page that shares gentlemanly ways for men to act, Grant said that asking a lady for money is considered impolite.

The man once served as the royal butler to Queen Elizabeth II.

To further hint who he was directing the tweet at, the man used a photo of someone counting naira notes.

He wrote;

”Gentlemen please remember that it is not considered polite to borrow money from a Lady! #Etiquette”

However, men sought to know why that assertion should be adopted and asked him to explain further.

@RedCaptain030; Why not?

@aliyuigana; This etiquette requires explanation!

@_Alsadeeq; May I know why

@D_Emojong; Please explain

@andywilmer; While it may not be considered “polite”, we are in the 21st century and when life gives you lemons, the lemonade you make may be in the form of financial help from a lady. While there is a place for chivalry and manners in modern society, your statement is very archaic.

@OditaIsrael; Is it ok then, for ladies to borrow from gentlemen? By the way, I take exceptions @TheRoyalButler, to your use of the Naira for illustration. I’m suing.

@Maaryam_Ado; Please o! If you have women who can help you when you need it, seek help o. But pay afterwards abeg

@oluwafiadekemi; Lmaooo because that’s all Nigerian men do EyesEyesEyes let me drink my teaaa
