I built a house and trained my 15 kids from selling newspapers – Vendor

A Nigerian man has narrated how he’s been able to take care of his large family and build a house after over 5 decades of selling newspapers.

Mallam Bawa, who is a newspaper vendor in Kano state, told BBC News Pidgin that he has been in the business for the past 51 years.

He, however, decried the decline in patronage of newspapers in recent times with the rise of online media.

The man who kick-started his vendor business at the end of the Nigerian civil war said he had achieved success with it.

Bawa revealed that he owns a house, got married and catered for his 15 children through proceeds from the paper business.
