Nigeria missed out on the qualifying spot after the team played a 1-1 draw with the black stars of Ghana. Per Away goals rule, Ghana’s single goal scored at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium on Tuesday, was enough to secure their place in Qatar.

Brila FM, reports that Eguavoen has sent an official resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, stating his decision to resign.

The Sports radio station said Eguavoen will now return to his role as Technical Director of all national teams. However, the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF is yet to release an official statement.
